What is a document naming convention?
A document naming convention is a consistent method to naming documents on a computer so that can the document can easily be located later. Using a consistent naming convention will allow you to easily identify what the document is related to, what type of document it is, and when it was created.
Examples of File Naming Variations
- When your identifier name has two names in it: The last name is McAdams: - Example: McAdams_VAContract_9.14.2020_V2Draft 
 
- When your identifier name is hyphenated: The last name is Jessie-James: - Example: Jessie-James_VAContract_9.14.2020_V2Draft
